Any time you are hosting an event anywhere besides a private residence someone's home venues, salons, office space, boutiques, etc. (Unless the property holds a liquor license)
An approved permit from ATC (Indiana Alcohol and Tobacco Commission) is required at ALL events.
This allows the host to purchase and provide beer, wine, seltzers, champagne and hire a licensed bartender to serve. ***NO HARD LIQUOR IS ALLOWED ON-SITE*** Only the permit holder can bring the products which can be bought from either wholesaler, any dealer or manufacture.
In order to obtain a temporary beer and wine permit, the applicant must complete Temporary Beer and Wine Permit Application found on the ATC Website. The completed application must be submitted to the local Excise office at least five days prior to the event. In order to receive a temporary permit, you must submit a completed application containing all required signatures, a floor plan on the application attached on 8.5'x 11" paper and the fee, which is $50 per day- payable with a money order, business check, or cashier check.
If the event is within the next five days, you may elect to seek the services of a licensed supplemental caterer. Please note that a temporary permit is good for beer and wine only - not liquor. If you would like to have liquor at your event, you must have a licensed alcoholic beverage caterer. Temporary permits and catering requests are valid for on-premises consumption only. Carry-out sales are not permitted and persons are not allowed to bring alcoholic beverages into a function with a temporary permit.
You must hire a licensed Alcohol beverage caterer (who holds a 3- way liquor license)and they must apply for a catering authority permit and provide ALL products. You will still need a licensed bartender to serve.
